Nichola Rees | People Director
It’s all about the peeps.
`When I was younger, I aspired to become a Clinical Psychologist, so I studied Psychology at Lancaster University, graduated, and got immediately sidetracked into the bright lights of HR.
I’ve been given some fantastic opportunities throughout my career, which I’ve grabbed with both hands and have ultimately led me to Kocho. I wear many different hats, but my primary focus is to make sure the people are happy; if this happens then everything else falls into place.
You’ll notice that I use the word ‘people’, not ‘staff’ and certainly not ‘human resources’. For me, we spend so much time at work that I want it to be an enjoyable place for people; I want to give people the opportunity to make life-long friendships, and I want to invest in people’s careers.
My ‘Become greater’ ambition is to see all of the fabulous plans we are working on coming into fruition, and to cement Kocho as an employer of choice.
“I feel great when I’ve finished a long run. Feeling completely exhausted and exhilarated at the same. Running gives me headspace when nothing else can.
